Alameda, CA – (June 30, 2024) – The Bay Area Breakers are excited to announce a partnership with Dr. Stephanie Yano, DPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS, a highly respected physical therapist with extensive experience in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. This collaboration aims to provide the Breakers' athletes with advanced training programs and comprehensive injury prevention strategies.
Dr. Yano brings a wealth of expertise to the team. She is a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California, where she was awarded the Merit Award for Academic Excellence and the Asian Pacific Alumni Association Merit Scholarship. Dr. Yano currently serves as a physical therapist at the Life@ Wellness Center located on Meta Headquarters, treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Her credentials include being an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) certified by the American Physical Therapy Association. Additionally, she holds a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), making her an invaluable asset in developing tailored strength and conditioning programs for our athletes.
Dr. Yano has a robust background in sports, both as a former NCAA basketball player and team captain at the University of California, San Diego, and as a sports physical therapist for Pinewood High School Athletics. Her experience includes on-field and off-field coverage, emergency medical response, concussion assessments, and injury treatment. She has also served as the strength and conditioning coach for a high school girls' basketball team, demonstrating her ability to enhance athletic performance and ensure athlete safety.
The partnership will focus on the following key areas:
- Customized Training Programs: Dr. Yano will design individualized training regimens to optimize performance and reduce injury risks.
- Injury Prevention: Implementing advanced techniques and preventive measures to keep athletes healthy and game-ready.
