Breakers acquire Blaine Hovenier in three-team trade
The Bay Area Breakers have acquired Blaine Hovenier as part of a three-team trade with the Miami Pickleball Club and the Las Vegas Night Owls. In the deal, the Breakers send Luc Pham and cash, Luc joins Miami, and Clayton Powell heads to Las Vegas. Miami receives cash considerations from both the Breakers and the Night Owls.

Hovenier arrives with one of the most respected motors in Major League Pickleball. Around the league he has built a reputation as a relentless competitor and one of the best teammates in the sport — exactly the kind of energy the Breakers want to ride into the second half of the season.
A note from the front office
"Luc has been a tremendous part of this team from day one," said Breakers General Manager Geoffrey Nguyen. "He earned his first career MLP win in a Breakers uniform and was right in the middle of our first trip to Super Sunday in Austin. We are grateful for everything he gave this club, and we wish him nothing but the best in whatever comes next."

What's next
The Breakers remain in the thick of the playoff race, tied for 12th in the standings with the season still wide open. With Hovenier in the fold, Bay Area returns to action in New York City.
