The players, coaches and people behind the Bay Area Breakers' 2026 Major League Pickleball season.
The Bay Area Breakers were founded in 2022 by Mimi and David Mercado and Ritchie Tuazon — originally as the Jackrabbits. In 2023 the ownership group grew to include Geoffrey Nguyen, Wayley and Kathleen Louie, Jeff and Stacey Nishi, and Jeremy Lin.
It's a majority Asian American ownership group with deep Bay Area and UC Berkeley roots, united by a goal of growing pickleball across the Asian and Asian American community.
Founded as the Jackrabbits, now the Bay Area Breakers of Major League Pickleball — proudly representing the Bay.
